Characterizing output processes of Em/Ek/1 queues

چکیده
Our goal is to study the output process of a queue of which conditions the interdeparture time will preserve the IFR property. We found the interdeparture time doesn’t always preserve the IFR property even if the interarrival time and service time are both Erlang distributions with IFR. We give theoretic analysis and present numerical results of Em/Ek/1 queues. We show it by numerical examples that the interdeparture time of Em/Ek/1 retains the IFR property if m ≥ k.

Longest Path in Networks of Queues in the Steady-State
Due to the importance of longest path analysis in networks of queues, we develop an analytical method for computing the steady-state distribution function of longest path in acyclic networks of queues. We assume the network consists of a number of queuing systems and each one has either one or infinite servers. The distribution function of service time is assumed to be exponential or Erlang. Fu...
متن کاملThe intercept term of the asymptotic variance curve for some queueing output processes
We consider the output processes of some elementary queueing models such as the M/M/1/K queue and the M/G/1 queue. An important performance measure for these counting processes is their variance curve v(t), which gives the variance of the number of customers in the time interval [0, t]. Recent work has revealed some non-trivial properties dealing with the asymptotic rate at which the variance c...
متن کاملA review on enhancement techniques of electrokinetic soil remediation
During the last decade, the expansion of urbanization and industrial activities caused serious environmental problems such as soil pollution. Novel technologies are required to remediate soil contamination with toxic contaminants, including heavy metals and organic pollutants. In recent years, there have been increasing attempts to improve soil remediation efficiency. Electrokinetic (EK) is an ...
متن کاملDeparture Processes of BMAP/G/1 Queues
A unified approach is applied to analyze the departure processes of finite/infinite BMAP/G/1 queueing systems for both vacationless and vacation arrangements via characterizing the moments, the z-transform of the scaled autocovariance function of interdeparture times C P (z), and lag n (n 1) co-variance of interdeparture times. From a structural point of view, knowing departure process helps on...
متن کاملOn the Large Deviations Behaviour of Acyclic Networks ofG / G / 1 Queues 1
We consider a single class, acyclic network of G/G/1 queues. We impose some mild assumptions on the service and external arrival processes and we characterize the large deviations behaviour of all the processes resulting from various operations in the network. For the network model that we are considering, these operations are passing-through-asingle-server-queue (the process resulting from thi...
